Euan Robson, Liberal Democrat European Parliament candidate, was joined by Galloway party members in Newton Stewart, Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas on Saturday campaigning for European elections on 4th June.

Mr Robson stressed the importance of the elections for the south west of Scotland, especially for the farming community.

Commenting, Mr Robson said:

"Liberal Democrats are campaigning for Scottish farmers to receive their fair share of agricultural support.

"We opposed the compulsory electronic identification 'tagging' rules for sheep and are fighting for the retention of less favoured area status in Scotland.

"The Euro elections are an opportunity for the farming community to make their voice heard. Liberal Democrats stand with Scotland's farmers and will use a megaphone if necessary to ensure that voice is heard."
